Demolition work has re-started on the Tudno Castle Hotel site in Llandudno.

Original plans were approved in 2014 giving permission to redevelop the Tudno Castle Hotel including partial demolition.

Work began early last year but the building was found to be in a worse condition than first thought so a new proposal was put to Conwy County Borough Council's (CCBC) planning committee.

The new plan sought planing permission to demolition the remainder of the building and recreate the listed façade.

Now work has begun again and developers Opus North said they were excited to be back on site.

Opus North's James Farnaby said: "We are very pleased the redevelopment of the Tudno Castle Hotel is finally getting underway. This will be a real asset to the town.

“We are working hard to ensure our works do not interfere with any local events and do not inconvenience people in the town.

“We have been happy to work with the Council to ensure the redevelopment is done properly, in line with all the rules, to retain the look of this important local building.”
