Stirring Celtic poetry promises to usher in the autumn in Llandudno.

Dublin poet and playwright Stephen James Smith will bring all of his heart and tumultuous raw emotion to 3rd Space @ the Great Orme Brewery this October.

Smith's poetry has been a flag for Ireland’s spirited contemporary poets to rally around.

Epic and intimate in equal measure – befitting of his nation's rich literary lineage – in 2017 he was commissioned by the St Patrick’s festival to write a new poem as a 'Celebratory Narrative of Ireland'.

The resultant piece, My Ireland, was accompanied by a short film, which has been viewed more than 300,000 times and was screened at the London film festival. It was added to his first published collection, Fear Not, which came out in in June.

Smith, whose verse has a universal relevance which engages far beyond his homeland, will be at 3rd Space on Saturday, October 27 at 7pm.

Tickets cost £12 if bought in advance, available from 3rdspace.wales, or admission is £15 on the door.
