EGLWYSBACH show, the biggest annual event in the village’s calendar, will be held on the second Saturday in August, its traditional date.

Over the years the show, has welcomed visitors and competitors from all parts of North Wales and other locations as far afield as Manchester and Birmingham.

It will be held at Cae Henblas, Eglwysbach, six miles south of Colwyn Bay, and signposted off A470 near Bodnant Gardens.

Records show the event was founded in the 1940s, it celebrated its 70th anniversary last year.

This year’s show will have many attractions to offer to the young and old with more than 80 trade stands, a funfair, cattle, sheep, poultry, horses, horticulture and handycraft competitions.

Dogs are welcome at the show and during the day there will also be a dog show, we welcome everyone to participate, with various prizes to be won. The dog show is sponsored by Country Kennels, Eglwysbach and supported by Prospect House, Veterinary Clinic and CAL Autism Assistance Dogs.

As evening entertainment there is a speed shearing competition, which attracts a huge crowd. There will also be the ever popular display of vintage tractors and working implements to see.

The gates will open 9.30am and the event will continue all day and into the evening, with the grand parade at 4.00pm and speed shearing continuing until 9pm.

Admission for adults will cost £7.50, and children £2.50, there will be free car parking.
