Conwy council are seeking expressions of interests to redevelop an important site in Rhos-on-Sea.

Rhos Point has been left vacant for some time and now Conwy County Borough Council (CCBC) are seeking someone to breath new life back into the waterfront site.

An open tender process this month will seek out proposals for the site from interested parties wanting to develop a commercial facility.

The development must be non-residential and must support year-round employment opportunities.

The prominence of the site, the listed Toll House, and proximity to the Rhos on Sea conservation area will require a high degree of sensitivity in the design and profile of any buildings.

Applicants will also need to consider the results of the community consultation from 2012.

Cabinet member for economic development, cllr Louise Emery, said: “This is a really exciting development opportunity.

"It’s an area with a unique sense of place, enjoyed by residents and visitors alike, and we’re looking forward to see what proposals come forward.”

The development opportunity will be advertised on Sell2Wales later this week.
