Celebrities will be coming from a galaxy far far away to join this year's Sci Fi Wales convention at Venue Cymru.

Game of Thrones, Doctor Strange, Star Wars and Red Dwarf celebrities will be coming to Llandudno next month for the annual Sci fi convention.

The lineup will be headlined by Zara Phythian - who played Zealot in Marvel's Doctor Strange; Clem So - who has featured in movies such as Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Ready Player One and Solo: A Star Wars Story; and Murray Mcarthur - Dim Dalba in Game of Thrones.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 1, at Venue Cymru with tickets on sale now from the Scifi Wales website at www.scifi.wales or directly from the Venue Cymru box office on 01492 872 000.

Organisers have been in Llandudno promoting the event with customers of Costa Coffee in the Parc Llandudno Retail Park getting a surprise last month when a stormtrooper dropped in for a latte and a slice of cake.

The appearance was organised to celebrate a sponsorship deal between the Llandudno branch of Costa Coffee and the Scifi Wales event.

The agreement will see comic con fans be able to get 10 per cent off their Costa Coffee during the week leading up to Scifi Wales just by producing their ticket.

On the day of Scifi Wales an extra special discount of 25 per cent will be given to patrons producing their ticket or showing off their hand stamp.

Robert Dyer, owner of UK Conventions Limited and the organiser of Scifi Wales said: “It’s amazing to see businesses from the local area getting involved with Scifi Wales this year.

"With Costa on board offering our attendees discounts on coffee, a ticket to Scifi Wales offers even more than usual.”

Mr Dyer said he had been in other meetings around Llandudno, with other local businesses wishing to support the event.

He said: “The support we’ve seen from local businesses this year has been overwhelming."

Staff at Costa Coffee have also decided to join in with the fun and festivities on the day of Scifi Wales and will be dressed in cosplay costumes to show their support.

Izabela Ledru, manager at Costa Coffee Llandudno, said: “My staff are super excited to be dressing up for the day and all of them really enjoy the atmosphere that comic con brings to Llandudno."
