A FREE music festival raising money for the homeless has been dubbed "the greatest to date" by organisers.

Despite heavy rain throughout Sunday, this year's three day TVWales Stock bank holiday festival on Llandudno promenade drew a crowd of about 1,000 at its peak with another packed bill of emerging artists from across UK, donating their services for free on behalf of charity Hope Restored.

Roger Boon, event organiser, said: "The forecast for Sunday was appalling, but despite the weather we survived and the bands drew people from across the prom for an absolutely fantastic event. it was undoubtedly the best TVWStock to date.

"I wouldn't begin to imagine how much we've raised, we've got buckets of donations to count and are still in the process of closing the event down.

"So many bands got amazing responses from the crowd, so to narrow it down to stand-out performances is very difficult.

"If I was to pick two highlights, Martin Rafferty and the Northern City Lights came all the way from Armagh at their own expense and ahead of their US tour to deliver one of tightest sets I've ever seen. People have still been coming up to me to talk about it two days later.

"Another golden moment would be the winner of our youth competition - the TVWStock Kids evening programme - a 12-year-old singer from Rhyl called Sian Sumang.

"She gave a West End worthy performance and commanded her vocals like a 30-year-old professional. The crowd were out of their seats and on their feet."

Mr Boon and the festival's organisers are already in the process of recruiting volunteers for next year's event. for more information visit http://tvwales.co.uk.
