The third annual Tan Lan Carnival has been labelled a huge success.

Bright sunshine greeted attendees at the carnival which was held in Tan Lan Field, with the day holding something for everyone.

The event started with a beauty queen parade through Old Colwyn led by Colwyn Bay mayor, Steve Williams, and accompanied by a troupe of Penrhyn Stars Morris Dancers, Rhyl Youth Marching Band, and hosts of local children.

Upon arrival at the fields guests were treated to live music, donkey rides, a barbecue, a vast array of stalls, and our local PCSO's brought the mini police car for the children to play in.

Conwy County Borough Councillors for the Colwyn ward, Cllr Cheryl Carlisle and Brian Cossey, said: "The event was a great success, and residents said that it reminded them of the heyday of Tan Lan, like the old Carnivals of the 1950's and 60's.

"We would like to thank everyone involved in making the day such a success."
