A jealous wedding party guest knocked out his girlfriend with a punch to the nose after she spoke to another man on the dance floor, a court heard.
Craig Barlow, aged 30, of Treforris Road, Dwygyfylchi, near Conwy, admitted common assault on Julia Newport Taylor at Llandudno.
Magistrates at Llandudno heard she had a black eye, sprained wrist and bloody nose.
Barlow, who lost his job after the attack, must carry out 100 hours unpaid work, building better relationships and alcohol treatment courses, and pay £200 compensation and £170 costs.
Prosecutor Diane Williams said a friend of the victim made a 999 call in March after the assault at Bodafon Farm.
When the victim came round Barlow had declared: "Oh my God, what have I done?”
Miss Newport Taylor had blurred vision and went to hospital.
Mrs Williams said Barlow had been very drunk and told police he was a binge drinker.
Graham Parry, defending, said there had been an “on-off” relationship.
Barlow misinterpreted a conversation between the victim and another man.
He regretted his actions.
