CONWY county residents are being asked for information where they have spotted homeless people as part of a Welsh Government move to asses the scale of the problem.

Conwy County Borough Council is taking part in a national Rough Sleepers Count, taking place over one night in November and is asking the public to help.

Residents are urged to get in touch before October 31with any information about where they’ve seen or heard about people sleeping rough.

Cllr Liz Roberts, Conwy’s Cabinet Member with responsibility for housing, said: “If you know where there are people sleeping rough please let us know, you could make a real difference."We need to make sure the scale of the issue in Conwy is accurately reflected in the figures we send to Welsh Government.”

Anyone found sleeping rough on the night of the count will be offered assistance.

If you have information about rough sleepers that could help the count, please phone 01492 576274, email housingstrategy@conwy.gov.uk, write to Housing Strategy, Civic Offices, Colwyn Bay, LL29 8AR or visit www.streetlink.org.uk.
