LLANDUDNO’s all weather lifeboat, William F Yates, was launched yesterday to aid a fishing vessel in trouble north of the Great Orme.
The eight metre long vessel, which had a two strong crew, had made a distress radio call reporting it was taking on water and its bilge pump had failed.
An RNLI spokesman said: “Shortly after the lifeboat had launched, the fishing boat called the coastguard and reported they had managed to get their bilge pump working and were making their way towards Conwy. The lifeboat located the fishing boat and escorted it up to the Conwy quay.”
