LLANDUDNO Christmas Fayre is set to expand along with its entry fees.

Ticket prices have increased from £2.50 to £4.50 this year to accommodate the "expanding" Christmas market. Although, early bird tickets can be purchased for £3.75 before the end of the month.

Llandudno Christmas Fayre organiser, Barry Mortlock, said the increase in entry fees was "not to make money" but to make sure the event was able to continue.

Speaking to the Pioneer, Mr Mortlock said: "The key things about the entry fee of £4.50 is only to cover our costs. If we have 20,000 people again, like last year, we'll be alright.

"But we can't do this without the funding. We are not trying to make money.

"We have got some funds behind us but we have just scraped through this year. So we are hoping to get as many people there to support the event this year as possible, so we can keep adding value to it."

He said this years Christmas Fayre is set to be "bigger and better than ever" with more than 140 stalls signed up for the event.

The 2018 fayre will be located in the same place as last year, around Trinity Church in Llandudno, but will be bigger as the event is set to take up the entire car park this year.

Santa's Grotto will return for the kids, with a new look thanks to a donation from Arriva. The grotto which will be located in the Lapland area of the Fayre will be in an old Arriva bus.

An augmented reality sleigh ride will also feature in the kids area.

For the adults there will be a wide range of unique Christmas gifts, ideal for those last minute shoppers along with a variety of food tents and beer, gin and other alcohol stalls.

Mr Mortlock added: "The exhibitors always say we are nothing like the big markets in places like Manchester and Birmingham where they mainly just have places to drink and eat.

"They always say how nice it is to see so many places to shop. At our fayre you are able to find unique presents you can't find on the high street."

The Llandudno Christmas Fayre will run from November 15 to 18. The Fayre will be open from 10am until 6pm on Thursday, 9.30am to 7pm on Friday and Saturday, and 9.30am to 4.30pm on Sunday.

Tickets are are on sale now from Venue Cymru.
