Llandudno mum's appeal to track down beloved family pet

A LLANDUDNO woman is calling for help to track down a beloved family pet.

Rio the African grey parrot escaped from his home on the Great Orme on Wednesday, February 3 and has not been seen by his owner Lorraine Parkes since.

Ms Parkes said her three sons, one aged 18 and twins aged 14, and her grandson have been helping her to search for 7-month-old Rio by going out every day and calling to him.

Lorraine said: "He's just started to talk, he says 'hello Rio' and he barks and whines like a dog.

"I just miss my companionship with him, the kids miss him too.

"My grandson calls to him when we go out and my kids are looking every day.

"I'm hoping someone has taken him or is feeding him in the their back garden because a seagull would kill him.

"It's not knowing that's killing me. I miss waking up at two in the morning and seeing him - we share toast, we share breakfast. I love him."

Ms Parkes has put up a reward of £50 for information leading to his discovery.

She described Rio as being grey in colour with a red tail, and he has an identification ring on his leg which is purple on the inside.

Anyone who may have seen Rio can contact Lorraine Parkes on 07557 051249.
