IT’S time once again to nominate a special little someone to be the Pioneer’s Child of The Year 2017.

Has your little darling exhibited courage and bravery beyond his or her years or has he/she been on the road to achieving greatness?

Many youngsters show remarkable bravery in battling illness, others devote their free time to helping friends and neighbours or working for the benefit of their community.

They may have cared for a family member, kept a cool head in a crisis or offered support and comfort to someone in need. They may have given that little extra to their school, their sports club or team.

Now is the time to pay tribute to that special someone and what better way to have their achievements recognised than in a local newspaper?

Have them treated like a VIP for the day and pick up an extensive range of goodies from The Pioneer’s generous advertisers.

Once again we are teaming up with local businesses to find the Child of the Year 2017 and to reward their amazing feats of kindness, bravery and quiet endurance.

The child we are looking for could live down your street, be a pupil at your child’s school, be a patient in a hospital ward or even be sat in your living room watching television as you read this.

Last year’s child of the year, was Ysgol y Gogarth pupil Zak Roberts who received a host of presents from our generous advertisers in the North Wales Pioneer.

Zak’s mum Alison Owen, 28, said she was surprised and delighted to find out Zak had won the competition.

She said: “Since starting fantastic new school, he has come on in leaps and bounds despite all his medical problems, he has never stopped being a pure joy to be around and he never stops trying to make everybody laugh”

Remember to include the name of the child and the area they’re from, as well as your own address and contact number.

Entries - which must be in by Friday, February 10 - are to be sent to amy.owen@nwn.co.uk or 23 Kinmel Street, Rhyl, LL18 1AH.
