A NORTH Wales Police officer has been dismissed after being on duty whilst under the influence of alcohol.

Police Constable Anna Jones was dismissed without notice after a private misconduct hearing on February 16.

This was related to allegations of breaches of the police standards of professional behaviour.

Ms Jones was on duty whilst under the influence of alcohol, actions which were found to amount to gross misconduct.

She was dismissed from the force without notice, North Wales Police said.

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "On the 16th of February 2024, Chief Constable Amanda Blakeman chaired an accelerated misconduct hearing in respect of Police Constable (PC) 2374 Anna Jones of North Wales Police, relating to allegations of breaches of the police standards of professional behaviour.

"The allegations related to Standard 5 – Orders and Instructions, Standard 8 – Fitness for Duty and Standard 9 – Discreditable Conduct.

"The allegations related to PC Jones being on duty whilst under the influence of alcohol.

"The allegations were found to amount to gross misconduct, and the officer was dismissed from the force without notice."
