GWERSYLLT PARK SECONDS have hit the ground running in Division Three of the North Wales Cricket League.

Park made it two wins out of two with Monday’s 72-run triumph at home to Caernarfon. Cai Pearson (81) top scored in Gwersyllt Park’s 145, while Venumadhav Peram bagged three for 25 in the visitors’ 73 reply.

Hawarden Park Seconds got the better of Connah’s Quay Seconds by five wickets after accumulating 109 for five (Evan Shaw 30). This came after Quay’s 108 all out (Jack Williams 3-14).

Buckley Seconds were dismissed for 67 (James Thomas 6-30) at Denbigh Seconds, who responded with a winning 68 for four (Mathew Edge 2-7).

Mold Seconds were edged out by 17 runs at Bethesda Seconds, who were able to set 172 for nine (Ben Parker 107 not out, Chris Boulton 3-20). George Godwin (47) and Joseff Roberts (42) helped Mold to reply with 155 for nine.

The early season leaders are Ruthin after their six-wicket success at Halkyn Seconds, who were dismissed for 84. Jac Evans’ knock of 40 helped to guide Ruthin to 85 for four with Gareth Thomas (pictured right) taking 3-5.

Elsewhere, Conwy Seconds defeated Pwllheli by four wickets, while Bersham Seconds are sitting pretty at the top of Division Four on the back of their 100-run triumph at Ruthin Seconds.

Aneesh Pattali (85) was the leading light in Bersham’s 160 (Ian Goldston 5-41), before Sujeesh Vazhadan grabbed five for 12 in Ruthin’s effort of 60.

Hawarden Park Seconds secured a seven-wicket success at Carmel & District Seconds, who were also dismissed for 60. Park replied with 62 for three.

Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn’s match at Dolgellau Seconds was abandoned with the hosts on nine for one, replying to 102 all out.

Abergele Seconds claimed a 24-run win in their meeting with Corwen Seconds.

Sebin Sebastion (95 not out) was the star for Abergele, while Berwyn Thomas (five for 16) impressed for Corwen.
