YOUR SAY: Life after Woolies?

COLWYN Bay's Woolworths store could soon be occupied after more than eight months of standing empty.

St David's Commercial Estate Agents have put the store on the corner of Abergele Road and Woodland Road West on the rental market for £45,000 a year, excluding business rates.

The 3,796 square foot corner property is a major unit on the town's High Street, and has been a site of great concern for some town councillors.

Bay of Colwyn Town Councillor, Cllr Susan Harvey, who sits on the Chamber of Trade, was thrilled to hear the site could soon be filled.

She said: "I am obviously pleased. We could do with some businesses coming in - it's right on the main street."

Cllr Harvey said either a local independent or national high street chain would be a welcomed addition to the town.

She added: "I am happy for anything within reason as long as something comes in. It will be just nice to see it being filled rather than left empty and run down."
