LLANDUDNO Junction face no pressure ahead of the visit of Welsh Premier side The New Saints in the Welsh Cup fourth round on Saturday.
S4C’s Sgorio will be showing the game and Junction manager Shane Cartwright is relishing the chance to play the team sitting at the top of the Welsh Premier.
He said: “Over the past month preparation for the game has been high on the agenda and I must thank everybody concerned to make sure that our visitors TNS are treated with the utmost respect as any other team that visits the Flyover.
“This Welsh Cup game comes no bigger than the visit of TNS.”
Junction have already beaten higher placed teams Llangefni and Llangollen to get to the fourth round and Mr Cartwright said there was no pressure on the team.
He said: “We go into the game under no pressure as deserved wins at higher placed Llangefni and Llangollen have given us our chance against TNS and I'm sure as an attacking team which we are, we believe that this is the only way to play, the best way for us to play.”
Preparation for the game has been very disruptive with the lack of games played, and on Saturday Junction lost 2-1 at Llanrwst.
Mr Cartwright said: “When I look back to the last round, we played at Holywell in midweek and got beat 4-1 yet beat Llangollen 3-1 away the following Saturday so I would snap your hand off if the same were to happen.
“I would also like to add from the management team and the players our grateful thanks to our supporters who have followed our journey so far and have been like a twelfth man when we’ve needed it.”
Assistant manager Lee Thornton has left the club for personal reasons and former Rhyl reserves manager Jon Stazicker has been brought in.
TNS beat Port Talbot on Saturday after Steve Evans scored the only goal of the match.
