Car fire in Penrhyn Bay

A PARKED car has been destroyed in a deliberate fire on a busy Penrhyn Bay road.

Motorists travelling along Glan Y Mor Road through the village on Thursday morning were forced to drive around the remains of the Metro, which was parked on the curb and cyclepath.

Firefighters from Llandudno were called out to the blaze at 7:30am but the car was beyond saving.

A spokeswomen for North Wales Fire and Rescue said: "It was a car fire with deliberate ignition. There was 100 per cent fire damage to the car."

North Wales Police attended the scene to alert road users to the keep their distance from the burned out shell. They confirmed the fire was still under investigation.

No one is reported to have been injured during the incident.
