HUNDREDS of schoolchildren flocked to Colwyn Bay on Monday to take part in the St David's Day parade.
Donned in colourful costumes, flamboyant hats, and all waving Welsh flags; the youngsters paraded along Abergele Road and down Station Road to the beat of energetic drummers.
And shoppers and residents in the town looked on as a towering effigy of St David led the proceedings.
Town manager for Colwyn Bay, Ingrid Lewis, was thrilled with this year's parade.
She said: "It was brilliant. We had a record number of paraders - just over 800 - and a new extended route which worked really well. And the concert after the parade went down really well - it was standing room only. It was a great way to kick off the host of activities taking place in the town throughout the week."
