Welshpool Youth 7, Rhyl 58
AFTER lifting the league title last week the young Dragons travelled to Welshpool for the semi final of the North Wales Youth Cup.

Rhyl have won the cup for the last two seasons and are now on course for a hat trick of wins in the cup, a feat never before done by any team in North Wales.

Rhyl have a very young team at the moment and at the start of the season were not expected to challenge for any trophies this year.

Coach Phil Blakoe said: “No-one thought this year’s team could match the success of last season when we were very strong and won the league and cup double and just lost in the semi final of the Welsh cup to a strong Merthyr team. But after working hard in training we find ourselves top of the league and in the final of the cup where we will play Mold or Denbigh and also in the final play offs of the Welsh Cup.”
