Colwyn Bay 233 for 7
Colwyn Bay won by 148 runs.
Colwyn Bay recorded a resounding victory over Wallasey to continue their good form in the Liverpool and District Premier Division.
After winning the toss, the Bay opted to bat first, with Carwyn Williams and Zac Gidlow laying the foundations for the victory with an opening partnership of 74 runs.
Following the two opener’s dismissal in quick succession, Sion Morris and the returning Graham Cross took to the crease, piling on more runs to push the Bay towards their target.
Morris went on to top-score for the day on 42 runs, whilst South African pro Will Hantam contributed with 36 from 37 balls, including four 4s and a 6.
Tail enders Paul Jenkins (17) and Jordan Evans (8) finished off the scoring, as Colwyn Bay declared on 233 runs for 7 from 55 overs.
With the teams turned around, Wallasey made a decent start to their innings, before a barnstorming performance from the Bay bowlers blew their opponents away.
The dismissal of opener Neil Carruthers began a spell of just under 12 overs taking four wickets for just 15 runs.
Wallasey crumbled in the face of the Colwyn Bay bowling attack, losing 9 wickets for 49 runs, with youngster Ryan Holtby claiming 3 wickets for 30 runs and P Jenkins 4 wickets for just 15 runs.
Colwyn Bay next play at home to fourth from bottom Northern this Saturday.

Colwyn Bay won by 4 wickets
Colwyn Bay seconds secured a 4 wicket victory over Southport, with Chris Rowley again playing an influential role in the win.
Rowley, whose half century and 115 run partnership with D Parry set up last week’s victory, bagged 90 runs to provide the backbone of another win at Rhos cricket club.
The seconds won the toss and chose to bowl first, with J Jones striking first to dismiss Jordan Benbow with just 17 runs on the board.
The next wicket then proved elusive as Southport racked up a decent scoreline, with opener Paul Parker eventually caught by G Gibbons with the scoreboard showing 110-2.
T Roberts, who delivered the ball to remove Parker, then struck again by taking out Nicholas Devlin, allowing A Jones to then turned the screw by claiming four wickets to finish the Southport innings on 232 runs for 7 wickets from 45 overs.
After the break, A Jones scored a respectable 46 runs, leaving the field after being caught out with the score 61-2.
The Bay’s innings steadily moved onwards, until Rowley took to the crease and steadied the ship, building three impressive partnerships to lead his team from a position of 86-4 to victory.
