A CHURCH congregation has showed its support to a sub-postmaster whose post office was raided.

Rev Aidan Coleman and the congregation of Rhosymedre Church presented David Taylor from Cefn Post Office, with a bouquet of flowers.

The post office was targeted last week but Mr Taylor has vowed to carry on with business as usual.

Rev Coleman said: “The whole community were tremendously shocked and I think the St John’s congregation would like David and his wife Janine to know they have the full support of the whole community.

“They are a tremendous asset to the local community.

“It’s not only the Post Office service but David’s been part of bringing a new lease of life to the area.”

David is part of the Plas Kynaston Canal and Marina Group who last week submitted their ideas for the council to consider in their forthcoming local development plan.

Nathan John White, 26, appeared from custody before Wrexham magistrates court in relation to the incident.

White is charged with robbery and carrying an imitation handgun with criminal intent.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Mold Crown Court on July 30.
