THE CHIEF executive of Conwy, who appeared in court accused of rape, has been banned from entering Conwy town.
The chief executive of Conwy county council appeared in court at Llandudno yesterday.
Byron Davies, 52, who earns a six figure salary, was sent to Caernarfon crown court, where he will appear on July 30.
In a two-minute hearing district judge Andrew Shaw remanded him on bail, which includes conditions that he mustn't enter Conwy town or any Conwy council office.
Swansea-born Davies, who gave an address at Yelverton, Devon, took up his post in February 2009 and has been temporarily relieved of his duties.
He was previously chief executive of Caradon district council in Cornwall. The alleged offence was in March at a house in the Llandudno area.
His solicitor James Humphrys said outside court, with Davies standing beside him : "My client has had his world turned upside down by this allegation.
"He vehemently denies any offence and will fight to establish his innocence at the crown court in due course."
