LOVING tributes have been paid to an electrician who is believed to have fallen from an A55 bridge.

James Todd, 21, from Rhos on Sea was found dead on the A55, at the foot of the Rainbow Bridge, Old Colwyn, at 5.11am on Sunday, August 8.

Heart-warming messages and floral tributes have been pinned to the bridge by friends and loved ones.

Friend Josie wrote: “To my absolutely gorgeous friend James Lionel Todd I can’t believe you’re really gone. It breaks my heart knowing I will never see your beautiful smile again. I will cherish every moment we spent together. I love you so much. Save me a spot at the head table. Yeah. Love Josie.”

James, who was known as Toddy to friends, leaves behind his father Stuart, who he worked with as an electrician, and his sister Lydia, 27.

A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “One vehicle was called to the Rainbow Bridge on the A55. The male is believed to have fallen off the bridge. He was declared dead at the scene.”

Friends Billy, Claire and Tom paid their tribute with flowers and a message to James. The note read: “Toddy, RIP mate, good night, god bless. You will be missed so much. Lots of love, Billy, Claire and Tom.”

Other friends spoke of their shock at the loss of the 21-year-old and said they would miss his “lovely smile.”

Police were called to the westbound carriageway of the A55 in the early hours of the morning, and officers closed both carriageways. The roads were re-opened at 6.55am. A spokesman for North Wales Police said the incident has not been treated as suspicious.
