HAYLEY Clarke delighted audiences as one of the finalists in ITV’s Grease Is The Word reality show a few years ago.
Over Christmas she is set to delight more audiences in Wrexham as she stars as Princess Jasmine in a production of Aladdin, to be staged at Glyndwr University.
Since appearing on the hit ITV show which gave talented singers the chance to star in the West End musical Grease, the 21-year-old from Liverpool has been concentrating on her own singing career.
She has performed at venues up and down the country and still throws in a few musical numbers during her sets.
Hayley is no stranger to acting, though, and has already performed as Cinderella in a panto staged by Simon Barry, the man behind the Aladdin show in Wrexham.
“I’ve been doing all sorts of things since the show,” said Hayley. “I love singing, that’s my passion, but I also do some acting so I’m really looking forward to playing Princess Jasmine.
“I played Cinderella in Runcorn last year which was great but Jasmine is a very different part so it should be good.”
She is excited about working with Simon Barry again and also to treading the boards alongside Wrexham-born Access Hollywood presenter Tim Vincent.
“Simon is great to work with,” Hayley continued.
“He tells you straight what he thinks and his pantos are always really good, so much fun.
“He picks some great people for his cast and I’m looking forward to working with Tim.”
Hayley will soon start rehearsing for the role but she has an advantage.
“I love all the Disney films, especially Aladdin,” she added.
“I’ve been concentrating on my singing but I’ve also done quite a bit of acting. I’ll be learning my lines in between everything else.”
‘Aladdin’ runs from December 9 until January 2. For more details visit www.glyndwr.ac.uk.
