YSGOL Bryn Elian has gone from 'strength to strength' after scoring its best GCSE results to date.
Every Year 11 student at the Old Colwyn school achieved at least one GCSE qualification, with a majority securing five or more higher grades.
Staff and pupils were delighted at the outstanding results achieved, which gave Ysgol Bryn Elian its highest percentage of A* and A grades in the school's history.
Rebecca Evans was one of the top achievers after securing 19 A*-A GCSEs.
Alex Hastings was awarded 18 A*-A grades, Stephanie Barnes gained 17 A*-A, and Katy Williams 16 A*-A GCSE marks.
Headteacher Eithne Hughes, said: “Bryn Elian goes from strength to strength. These are our best results and we are very proud of all these young people who have worked so hard. The students have achieved exceptional results through a superb work ethic, dedication to their studies and excellent teaching.
"Bryn Elian’s success comes from that balance of academic rigor and looking after the wider interests of the students through a wide range of opportunities and experiences offered to each every individual. The individual mentoring support programme where every pupil in the school has a mentor to discuss targets and academic progress, is really working for the pupils.
"Thanks go to all the staff for their hard work and the excellent teaching of these Year 11 students.”
