YSGOL GLAN CLWYD have continued their high standard of GCSE results for a third successive year.
76% of pupils attained a C grade or above, with 24% gaining an A* or an A grade.
A number of pupils also achieved particularly excellent results, with Steffan Hughes top of the class with 8 A*s and 4 A grades.
Emily Jones also performed outstandingly, gaining 7 A*s and 5 As, as did Ffion Bailey with 4A* and 8 As.
Ellen Dier gained 3 A*s and 9 As, Michelle Woodring got 3 A*s and 8 As and India Harris achieved 5 A*s, 6 As and a BTEC merit.
Another pupil who performed exceptionally well was Liberty Morris, who achieved 1 A*, 2 As, 7 Bs and a C grade despite undergoing heart transplant surgery last year, missing a full term of school.
Headteacher Martin Davies was delighted to see another year of pupils succeed at the school.
“We are very pleased once again to see so many young people succeed - it is a tribute to their hard work and determination, the commitment of the staff, and the support of parents,” he said.
“The majority of the pupils in this year group have worked diligently and co-operated happily with staff and fellow pupils, and have succeeded in drawing the best out of themselves and each other.
“It is very pleasing to see them attain such commendable grades.”
The school are also celebrating the success of the Welsh immersion class who joined from English Primary Schools in year seven, the majority of whom obtained at least 5 A*-C grades including Welsh first language.
