Glan Conwy 4
Gaerwen 0
The trophy holders made it safely through into the second round of the Welsh Trophy with a 4-0 win over Gaerwen.
Debutant Trefor Jones opened the scoring just before the half hour mark with a fine effort from 15 yards, giving his side the advantage at the interval.
A powerful Andy Booker header then made it 2-0, followed shortly after by a fantastic solo effort from Jonathan Turner.
Gaz Davies then sealed the win on 64 minutes with a piledriver that left the keeper with no chance.
Glan’s next match sees them travel to Wrexham to face Borras Park in the Welsh Cup Preliminary Round, with a 2.30pm kick off.
Llanrug 3
Conwy Utd 4
Conwy United came away with the spoils in the tie of the round, as they beat Llanrug thanks to a 97th minute winner.
Toby Jones opened the scoring in the 9th minute, shooting under the Llanrug keeper following a mazy Jamie Jones run.
However, Llanrug somehow took a 3-1 lead despite spending much of the match under pressure, scoring with a 20 yard strike, a penalty and an own goal.
Conwy saw a hatfull of chances go begging, but finally began the fightback ten minutes from time thanks to Toby Jones.
United kept hammering on the door, and finally got a break after the referee awarded them a penalty in the 94th minute, which Jones converted confidently.
And there was one final twist in the tale, as Jones found himself free in the Llanrug area seven minutes into injury time to complete his hat-trick and complete an unbelievable turn around.
