LLANDUDNO library will be closed for more than four months while renovation work is carried out.

The library will close its doors on Friday, September 3, and is expected to be reopened in mid-January.

According to a Council spokeswoman, attempts to use an empty shop to provide a temporary mini-library were unsuccessful, but alternative services will be available via a mobile library and neighbouring libraries in Penrhyn Bay, Colwyn Bay, Conwy, Deganwy and Llandudno Junction.

A box for returning books will also be available in the library ground floor foyer.
The ground floor services of the Tourist Information Centre and the library Community Room and Interview Room will remain open throughout the refurbishment, as will access to Engineering and Design Services on the top floor.

For more information and details of the schedule for the mobile library, contact the Culture and Information Service on (01492) 576139 or e-mail: library@conwy.gov.uk or visit www.conwy.gov.uk/library
