A CONWY woman set her sights on nationwide glory after she was named the most beautiful in the region.
Georgia Spencer-Turner, 21, of Llandudno, was crowned Miss Conwy and Denbighsire on Saturday, and will represent the region at Miss Wales, where she could win a spot in the Miss World pageant.
She said: " I wasn't expecting to win at all. I want to aim for the top, and I'm going to be Miss Wales."
Runner-up Eberlina Morris, a 19 year-old Conwy waitress held at Galeri Caenarfon, missed out on a place at Miss Wales two years ago.
She said: "I learnt from the experience and I've come back stronger than ever, and I wanted this so badly."
"To represent your county and to go through and represent Wales is an absolutely amazing feeling."
Eirias High School year 13 student Corrine Gibbons, 18, of Llandudno,, was also a runner-up.
She said: "Just before we went on stage we were saying that if none of get through, it's fine and it's been a great experience.
"But I'm really excited about Miss Wales and looking forward to raising more money for the Joshua Foundation."
The six North Wales heats raised £5,000 for the Joshua Foundation, which provides holidays and activities for children with terminal cancer.
The girls will compete at the Miss Wales finals in July, where the winner will book a place at Miss World in China this December.
Paula Abbandonato of organisers Vibe Models praised contestants and their families for their hard work.
She added: “We think that all of the contestants who took to the stage over the weekend have done a tremendous job and those representing North Wales in the Miss Wales final in July have an excellent chance of bringing home the crown.”
