DOG owners have been urged to take care with their pets after a dog attacked a sheep in Bangor.

PC Lisa Thomas said that the sheep had been injured in a field in Tregarth between 9.30am and 6pm on Monday.

She said: “The owner thinks the animal has been bitten by a dog as it has a small puncture mark on its neck and she has informed other local farmers.

PC Thomas said that this was the second such attack in a month, and urged residents to take care with their dogs in the countryside.

“We are also appealing for information from anyone who might have been in the area at the time and noticed anything suspicious,” she said.

Anyone with information should call North Wales Police on 101 (if in Wales) or 0845 6071001 (Welsh) 0845 6071002 (English).

Alternatively text 66767 or Crimestoppers Wales/Cymru anonymously  on 0800555111.
