Orme body confirmed as missing Deganwy man

A BODY discovered on the Great Orme has been confirmed as that of a missing Deganwy man.

North Wales Police have confirmed that the body of a man found on the Great Orme is 47 year old Andrew Parvin,  who was reported missing on Monday night from his parents' home in Deganwy.

Mr Parvin, who also owned a home in Wrexham, had last been seen after leaving his parents' home on Sunday afternoon, with the intention of going for a walk. He was an experienced walker who regularly visited Betws y Coed and Snowdonia.

Inspector Mark Cartmell said that the police helicopter found the body at the foot of the cliffs to the north side of the Great Orme on Wednesday morning. His body was later retrieved by the coastguard.

Insp Cartmell said: "Police inquiries have confirmed the identification, and the North West Wales coroner has been informed.

Police are looking to speak to anyone who might have been on the Great Orme on Sunday afternoon who may have seen or spoken to Mr Parvin. 

He was described as slim build, dark hair in his late forties, wearing dark coloured puffer type walking jacket, khaki trousers and grey hiking boots.
