A DURSLEY man has designed a computer programme that recreates the atmosphere of the Royal International Air Tattoo at Fairford.

Carl Edwards, of Weavers Close, has designed the downloadable programme, which is compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator, so people can experience the show in the comfort of their own home.

Mr Edwards, 34, has worked on various television, film, and video game graphics projects, working with companies such as Empire, Rowan and Atari.

Mr Edwards, who taught himself to design computer programmes, said: "It started when I first bought the Flight Simulator. I just started making things for myself and I got in touch with the publishers and they liked my idea. I love doing this - it is my hobby."

A proportion of each sale of the programme goes to the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, which provides assistance in times of need to those who have served in the RAF. The fund also provides assistance to widows, widowers and dependants, including those of associated Air Forces as well as the RAF.
