PASSENGERS were evacuated from an Arriva Wales bus on Conwy Bridge following an electrical fire.

Fire crews from Conwy and Llandudno were called just before 8am this morning and 11 passengers and the driver safely exited the No 5 service headed for Bangor.

A spokesman for Arriva said an investigation was underway and passengers affected had been provided with alternative transport.

Traffic had to be diverted and the bridge was closed until 10am.
