THE RSPCA is appealing for information after a dog was tied up to the gate of an animal centre and abandoned.
The dog, who has been named Jet, is in good condition but will need to be looked after for at least four weeks before he can be found a new home.

Staff at the RSPCA Bryn Y Maen Animal Centre near Colwyn Bay discovered the dog on Saturday, May 3 at
around 8.30am.

Vicky Williams, deputy manager of the animal centre, said: "He is a lovely dog and it is very sad that someone could just dump him like that.

"He is a bit wary of people he doesn't know at the moment but is growing in confidence every day and we hope he will make a good pet."

RSPCA Inspector Kevin Paton said: "It is unacceptable to dump a dog like this, even if it is outside an RSPCA centre.

"We don't know why he was abandoned but because he had his bed with him we assume it was by his owner. We would be very interested to speak to the owner and we're asking anyone with any information to give us a call."

Jet is thought to be a Labrador crossed with a collie and is about 11 months old.

He is currently not available for rehoming, but the centre has a number of other dogs that are looking for permanent loving homes.

Anyone with any information should call the RSPCA's 24-hour Cruelty Line on 0300 1234 999.

The RSPCA Bryn Y Maen Animal Centre can be contacted by phoning 0300 123 0745.
