PROJECTS which improve the character of the Colwyn Bay area will be eligible for a special award.
The Colwyn Bay Civic Society, founded in 1972, is asking Pioneer readers to nominate projects taking place in Colwyn Bay, Old Colwyn, Rhos on Sea, Llysfaen and Mochdre.
The Categories are:
1. Building projects completed in the last five years that are of architectural merit or character, making a sufficient contribution to the area.
2. Schemes of renovation or improvement in the existing built environment.
3. Projects or developments that enhance or protect the natural environment
4. Schemes that lead to a better understanding of the natural environment.
5. Projects that contribute to a better understanding of the local historical heritage.
6. Schemes or project that raise public awareness and appreciation of the local historical heritage.
7. Any other scheme that leads to an improvement in either the built, natural or social environment.
All projects that are nominated will be put forward to the committee in September and each winner will receive a plaque and certificate.
To nominate a scheme please send the name of the project/scheme you are voting for and the reason, to:
Gordon Pallisen, 16 Hartsville Avenue, Penrhyn Bay, LL30 3HS by September 15.
