FOUR intrepid fuel consultants will be climbing Wales' highest peak with an oil barrel to raise money for charity.
Members of Fugro-Robertson Oil and Gas Consultancy, based in Llanrhos, have taken the Ty Gobaith 90 Day Corporate Challenge - a competition to see which local business can raise the most money to help the hospice provide respite care for terminally i
ll children.
On Sunday, May 11, the team will be hiking up Snowdon carrying an industrial oil barrel between them.
Organiser Paul Board will be joined by fellow employees Emma Fenn, Rob Mandley and Rob Bell-Davies to tackle the mammoth task under the team name The Oil Barons, and the group hope to raise as much as possible for the charity.
"We're doing it because we are oil and gas consultants. But don't worry - we'll be bringing the barrel back down again!" joked Paul.
"We have 90 days to raise as much money as we can, and this is just one of many events we are putting on. I can't think of a more worthy good cause."
Although the Ty Gobaith 90 Day Challenge is all about raising funds for local children, the competition element of the event is something that is not lost on the Fugro-Robertson team, who are keeping certain details a secret from their rivals.
Paul added: "Hopefully we're going to raise a lot of money, but I can't tell you how much."
If you would like to support the team, then contact Paul on 01492 581811 or 07825 275839, or e-mail him at pb@fugro-robertson.com
