THE twin of a popular Llandudno taxi firm owner who was found dead in the Conwy valley last week has paid tribute to his brother, saying, "half of me is missing and it will be missing forever".

Darrel Musgrove, 37, who founded local cab service Daz'll Drive U, was discovered in a forest near Llanrwst on the evening of July 9.

Paramedics were called to a woodland area where the body was found three miles from Coed Carregygwelch. They pronounced him dead at the scene.
A spokeswoman for North Wales Police confirmed that the death was not being treated as suspicious. An inquest into his death has been opened and adjourned.

Darrel's twin-brother Garrad remembered his brother when talking to the Pioneer.

"From birth we have been together," said Garrad. "Nobody will replace the half of me that is missing. We were together in the same class all throughout school and used to get the same exam results, we'd get different questions wrong, but always the same results."

Garrad spoke of a number of coincidences associated with being twins, saying they would often pick up the same items from shops, and as youngsters when Darrel was in hospital with concussion Garrad suffered with headaches.

Both brothers spent a lot of time at Rhos on Sea golf club, where they were both members.
"It was like a second home for us," added Garrad. "There was always someone to talk to, and I never used to let him beat me at golf."

Ian Jones, a director at Rhos on Sea Golf Club, knew Darrel for 14 years.
He said: "Darrel was a great lad and he was a very popular member of the club. He was something you don't get too much of these days - a nice genuine person, what you saw was what you got. He was a really nice decent lad. He used to organise fun competitions for the not so good golfers at the club.
"Everyone at the club would like to pass on their thoughts and prayers to the family."

In November 2007, Darrel started a new chauffeur company called Daz'll Drive U in Craig Y Don, which is reported to still be operating in line with the family's wishes.

Darrel was planning to marry his girlfriend next year, and had a seven year old daughter from a previous marriage.

Before starting his own business, the former Ysgol Creuddyn pupil had worked in the accounts department of cable management specialists Mita UK in Bodelwyddan for 17 years, and was well known at the firm.

Jayne Parry, PA to the Managing Director at Mita UK, was saddened to hear of his death.
She said: "All friends and colleagues from Mita send their condolences. It's hit quite a few of us here. He was really well liked and very friendly. It's a total shock."

A funeral will be held for Darrel at 10am on Saturday, July 19 at St Paul's Church in Craig y Don.
The burial will then take place at Llanrhos cemetery, followed by refreshments at Rhos on Sea golf club.

"Everyone is welcome to the funeral," said Garrad. "It will be a celebration. Everyone can talk about their memories of Darrel. He loved everyone to bits."
