SIR - I would like to thank the anonymous person who, having read my letter in the Gazette (July 16) about the theft from the bottle tombola at St Mary's Church, Wotton, fete, so kindly and generously put £50 through my letter-box to make up the loss.
Apart from the practical good the money will bring, there is the good done to the spirit which results from how quickly the warmth from a kind action eclipses the coldness left by an unkind one.
