The Llandudno Pier has re-opened after sustaining damage during the recent storms.

The Beast from the East and Storm Emma cause minor structural damage to the Llandudno tourist attraction forcing it to close for nearly two weeks.

Pier owner Adam Williams said the money spent doing works under it over the past few years had resulted in only minor damage and some frozen pipes but it could have been much worse.

Mr Williams said: "The storm was one of the worst I have ever seen, I have never known it to be so bad. I think it was because the wind was coming from a different direction than normal."

He said the Grand Hotel had also sustained damage from the storms.

The Pier re-opened on Saturday, just in time for Mothers Day on the Sunday.

Mr Williams said a healthy number of visitors took advantage of the good weather on Sunday and came for a trip down to the Pier to celebrate their mothers special day. He added the re-opening had come just in time for Easter.
