After a year away from the area a popular BBC-run event is set to return to Colwyn Bay.

BBC's Proms in the Park is coming to Stadiwm Zipworld on Saturday, September 8, showcasing the BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales and special guests, which will be named at a later date.

This annual outdoor event first came to Conwy County in 2016, attracting thousands of people who enjoyed music from special guests Tony Hadley, Wales-based Grammy award-winning Amy Wadge, and Welsh tenor Wynne Evans.

Councillor Louise Emery, Conwy County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for the Economy, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome BBC Proms in the Park back to Colwyn Bay and I’m excited to see yet another major event secured at Stadiwm ZipWorld.

"Events are extremely important to Conwy County as they provide significant economic value for our many small businesses.

“Partnerships with the BBC help create the right environment for world class events such as BBC Proms.

"Those who attended Proms back in 2016 will need no encouragement to come along, but I urge those who haven’t experienced this fantastic event to join us, as you won’t be disappointed.”

Tickets go on sale Saturday May 12 and will be available from Venue Cymru, Llandudno through their webiste: www.venuecymru.co.uk or by calling 01492 872 000.
