FOUR Conwy county businesses and a major tourism event have been recognised at the the Go North Wales Tourism Awards at Venue Cymru in Llandudno.

Conwy’s Baravelli’s, Llandudno’s St George Hotel and Dunoon Hotel, Gwinllan Conwy and the Conwy Tournament all received awards for outstanding work in the North Wales area.

Gwinllan Conwy took the award for best food and drink adding to the businesses’ growing list of accolades in 2017. Earlier this year the winery took home a silver and a bronze medal for their Pefriog and Solaris wines respectively at the International Wine Challenge.

Baravelli’s, known for their chocolate, took home the Arts in Business Cymru tourism award thanks largely to their hand painted eggs.

Owner Emma Baravelli said: “We’re over the moon with the award because we were up against tough competition. We’ve won 30 food awards, so this is something different which is great.”

The St George and Dunoon won the tourism business innovation and best hotel awards respectively. The Conwy Tournament, a medieval festival held in June, rounded off the area’s big winners with the best marketing campaign award.
