CONWY High Street was packed with visitors last week for the medieval Conwy Seed Fair.

This was the 28th year the Seed Fair has been organized by Conwy Beekeepers.

Secretary Peter McFadden said: We were pleased to see plenty of families enjoying the event. We had about 50 stalls, including one selling nearly 50 varieties of seed potatoes; home grown seeds from the Snowdonia Society; Incredible Edible Conwy, and many other specialist plant stalls and farmers' market stalls.”

The Conwy Seed Fair and the Honey Fair were founded by Royal Charter of Edward 1st, more than 700 years ago.

It was held on Monday March 26 and more than £500 was raised in a collection towards Bees for Development, to help people in the developing world become self-reliant through beekeeping.

Mr McFadden added: “We are organizing the Conwy Honey Fair on Thursday 13th September.”
