AN AMATEUR drama group is hoping for a big turnout as they get ready to stage their latest play.

CHAPS will present Curses Foiled Again, a play by Evelyn Hood, on Friday, April 27 at 7.30pm and Saturday, April 28 at Memorial Hall in Llandudno Junction at 2.30pm and Sunday, April 29 at the Trinity Centre in Llandudno at 2.30pm.

Audiences will be able to singalong as music entertainment is presented in the second part of the programme, as well as items from Oliver.

Margaret Norwood, of CHAPS, said: "We are really enjoying the play rehearsals, a Victorian melodrama being performed by a struggling amateur group. The heroine hasn't learnt her lines causing domestic friction between the cast members and sound effects don't always appear on cue.

"A synopsis in the programme will help audiences recognise 'deliberate' mistakes. Regular members of CHAPS make up the cast but newcomer Sue Rogers is a star as the elderly family nursemaid."

Martin Hill plays the villain of the piece - Sir Jasper Rotten and his is very "ably" supported by his partner in crime, Lucy the maid, played by Jenny Phillips. Geoff Skelhorn plays the young, lost son and heir to the estate.

"The music in the second part should prove popular." Tickets £8 , £7 concessions. To book, telephone 01492 584738 or buy on the door.
