A MAN appeared in court on a race-hate charge yesterday (Wednesday) after a woman complained about a golliwog doll in his window.
Jason Wakefield-Jones, 50, of Bastion Road, Prestatyn, North Wales, denied that on January 4 he displayed it with intent to cause her harassment, alarm or distress and the offence was racially aggravated.
A defence solicitor told magistrates at Llandudno it was a toy in a first-floor window and only one person had complained.
Wakefield-Jones was bailed until a trial before magistrates next month.
