The Broadway News and Convenient Store in Penrhyn Bay has been robbed.

North Wales Police were called to the newsagent at 1.50pm this afternoon.

Officers apprehended two local men in their 20s upon arrival with both being held in custody awaiting interview.

Police are still at the with forensic teams examining the store, which is closed following the incident.

Det Sergeant Chris Williams at St Asaph CID said: "Despite two individuals being very quickly arrested our investigation has only just started and so I’m appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour to contact Police.  

"Fortunately no one was injured however I’m sure the experience was traumatising and for the victim’s sake I’d ask anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant they think it is, to pass onto Police immediately."

A Penrhyn Bay resident said this was not the first time something like this had happened.

She added: "It is very scary."
