Ysgol Deganwy students new recycling innovation has seen them win a UK-wide competition.
Seven year six students, which made up Team Emaginate, created Recycle Michael which saw them win the Primary School category at the sixth annual Raspberry Pi coding competition in London.
Judges said the way the school's idea solved such a complex issue with ease had impressed them.
They said they could see the potential of the idea and could imagine Recycle Michael being scaled up to appear in offices and homes across the country.
Ysgol Deganwy headteacher Haf Williams said: "This is undoubtedly a fantastic achievement for the pupils and staff. We are very proud of our future innovators."
The pupils described the victorious trip as a "once in a life time opportunity".
The Recycle Michael the team came up with was an interactive rubbish bin that uses a barcode scanner to scan waste packaging which then displays useful information on a screen above the bin compartments.
The bin is designed to enable users to identify which recycling compartment to put their waste into and also develop their understanding of the importance of recycling through interesting and educational facts displayed when a product is scanned.
