THE legacy of a former Llandudno resident has been marked by the planting of a tree at a care home.
Money left by Edward Redrupp in his will to Leonard Cheshire Disability, paid for a specially adapted wing to the main building at Eithinog, a care home run by the charity in Colwyn Bay.
The ‘Arfon’ service, which has been in operation for seven months enables eight disabled people to enjoy greater independence, fulfil their potential and enjoy better quality lives.
On Thursday, June 1, a tree was planted in the grounds of the home in Edward’s honour.
“Each person has their own needs,” said Nichola Bradbury, deputy manager. “The thing they all have in common is that they want more control over their lives.”
Kayleigh, who moved in recently said: “I really want to make it my home. I love getting out and about when I want to and I’ve been getting into baking, which I’d never been able to do before.”
“Edward’s gift means a huge amount to the people at Eithinog. They’ll never forget him or his generosity.”
