A Christmas candle has been removed from the shelves of a popular retail outlet after safety concerns.
Primark stores, including the Llandudno store stocked this product heading into the festive season but have since been forced to remove it from sale.
A Primark spokesperson said: “We take the safety of our customers and quality of our products very seriously. We are removing the product from sale while we investigate this complaint as a matter of urgency.”
The matter was bought to shoppers attention by Jenny Ferneyhough on Facebook after she posted a picture of the Christmas tree shaped candle in flames just moments after lighting it.
The post which hit Facebook on December 6 has already been shared 333,186 times.
While the item hasn't been recalled, the Primark spokesperson said customers who have already purchased the candle are able to return the product if they are not happy and get a full refund.
