TWO youths who climbed to the roof of the Peacocks store in Colwyn Bay had to be persuaded by police to come down.

The incident happened on Sunday.

The two boys were shouting at passersby until the police were called.

North Wales Fire and Rescue service was called to the scene to provide a ladder for police officers to reach the roof and rescue the boys with the aid of firefighters.

A spokesman for the North Wales Police said: “We were called to the Peacocks store in Station Road on Sunday afternoon after it was reported to us that two boys were on the roof and were shouting at passersby.

"It some time to persuade them to come down, after which they were both given warnings by officers for their anti-social behaviour.

"One was subsequently collected by his parents, the other was taken home in a police car.”

The spokesman added they were called at 4.45pm and it took until 6pm to persuade the boys to come off the roof.
